Backyard Visiter

Here are some pics and a movie that I shot of a Brown Thrasher that I saw in my backyard yesterday (4/22/11). This is the first time I've ever seen one in my backyard, and they're cool birds, so I was pretty excited. Thanks to the Brown Thrasher for coming back multiple times so I could get these.

(The audio is just me being interrogated by my sister, who graciously lent me her camera.)
The blackness in some of the corners is there because I took the pictures through my spotting scope by pressing a point-and-shoot camera up against the eye-piece.  This isn't the most popular method amoung photographers, but it's a whole lot better than trying to draw a picture of it, (or using the point-and-shoot by itself for that matter).  I am really fortunate that I got my new tripod two days before this, because the video especially would be a whole lot more wobbly if I had used the old one.

A new title for Brian Williams

To demonstrate his superior knowledge of science to the world, Brian Williams has questioned the truth of the chemical laws of diffusion.  As far as I can tell, Williams is the first Adiffusionist (like Atheist, someone who doesn't believe in god, and Adiffusionist is someone who doesn't believe in diffusion).  While discussing the recent dumping of radioactive water into the ocean due to the Japan Nuclear crisis, Williams said in reference to scientists who claim that the pollution will not affect the United States because the radioactive materials will diffuse, bring the concentration of radioactive materials down to safe levels, "it just seems to me that they are putting a lot of weight on the word diffusion".  Williams is demonstrating his doubt that diffusion is capable of allowing the radioactive materials to spread throughout the ocean, decreasing the concentration to negligible  levels.  Although I respect Williams critical thinking on this issue, I think that I will side with the rest of the scientific community on this issue, especially since diffusion has been proven innumerable times in labs all over the world and is certainly sufficient to neutralize the threat before radioactive materials get half way around the world to the US.

Enough sarcasm.  I can't believe they allow that moron to mislead the gullible American public.  Can you believe the pompous ignorance of that fool?!!

These videos are really good.  They sum up my beliefs about economics pretty well.  The only reason I can think of that liberals disagree is that they don't want to believe it.  If you vote you must watch this.
